plastic parts

Tooling

Lots of machines are used for plastic molding. Each machine has its own capability, ranging from few prototype pieces to large scale production pieces. The mold is typically made from steel and hardened to prevent breaking during mass production, but aluminum prototype molds are cheaper for small scale projects.

Injection

Similar to rubber molding, a cavity is made in a mold with the contours of the desired part. It is then injected with plastic to produce the parts. Injection molding encompasses a wide range of techniques for plastic molding, and can produce large quantities of parts easily.

Dual Injection

Dual injection technique is a multistage injection process that allows the use of more than one plastic. The result is the ability to use multiple materials on the same product in the same process. Efficiency is increased.
